Nigerian reggae musician,Majek Fashek is dead

Reports indicate that iconic Nigerian reggae musician Majek Fashek has died.
Born Majekodunmi Fasheke, Fashek was a celebrated singer-songwriter who had his heyday in the 1980s and 1990s, when he became an internationally recognized star.
Fashek was reported to have been in a comatose state at a London hospital by his manager last week, who had requested Nigerians for urgent medical and other expense assiatance.
Majek is best known for the 1988 album Prisoner of Conscience, which included the multiple award-winning single “Send Down the Rain”.
Also known as The Rainmaker, Majek had worked with various artists worldwide, including Tracy Chapman, Jimmy Cliff, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, and Beyoncé.
Majek Fashek died in London, United Kingdom at age 57.
