Ladoke Akintola family Congratulates Tinubu; appreciates FG for renaming Ibadan International Airport after Late Sage
Weeks after the Federal Government renamed Ibadan International Airport, Alakia, after the former Premier of Western Nigeria, late Chief Ladoke Akintola, the management of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Memorial Foundation, has appreciated and showered accolades on the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government.
In a letter jointly signed and released on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, by her Chairman, Mr. Adeyemi Adedokun and the Secretary, Comr. Azeez Sharafadeen, the foundation acknowledged the immediate past administration under Major General Muhammad Buhari (Rtd.) for honouring the late 13th Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, on Sunday, 28th May, 2023.
The foundation congratulated the new President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his inauguration as the 16th President of the country. Adding that the President’s wealth of experience in the political field will lead him to usher-in positive developments in the country.
The statement read, ” The Samuel Ladoke Akintola Memorial Foundation writes on behalf of Chief (Amb.) Abayomi Akintola (Scion of Akintola’s Family) and Dr. Abimbola Akintola to congratulate Your Excellency on your inauguration as the 16th President of our dear nation, our prayer is that God Almighty will give you wisdom and understanding to lead the country to the promise land”
The foundation commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for renovating and remodelling the now Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Alakia during his first tenure in office. Noting that the renaming would have not taken place, if Oyo State Government had failed to upgrade the airport.
Late Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola was a renowned Orator, teacher, Journalist, Legal luninary, Politician of first class order, devoted Christian and Nationalist per excellence during his life.
In his time, late Samuel Ladoke Akintola contributed immensely to the attainment of Nigeria’s independence at different levels and post independent era. This could be attested to, by various offices and positions he occupied during his short but an eventful life he lived.
Taking into consideration the life full of services to the humanity in capacity, late Akintola meritoriously served in promoting the unity of Nigeria and the course of
humanity in general.
