The Polytechnic, Ibadan Director of Centre for Information and Data Management (CIDM) , Dr Babalola Moyin Florence has been awarded as the Most Efficient Civil in Management Staff, Oyo state.
The August occasion held on the 4th December, 2024 at the Ibadan Civic Centre, Idi Ape , Ibadan , Oyo state.
Cheif Host of the Event , Engr Abiodun Seyi Makinde narrated the importance of Public servants in his administration and the good they have done to the society and Oyo State at large.
He thanked the Public service for the work done, congratulated the awardee and geared them to work harder as the reward for hard-work is more work.
The event which was the grand finale of the 2024 public service week & 2023 Productivity & Merit award Day after series of events to celebrate the August Occasion.
Chairman of the event , Cheif Adebisi Adesola while giving his opening remarks emphasized on the need for public servants to remain accountable for good deeds of the society, showcase patriotism and patience.
He also said the public service is a sense of calling, a way to give fresh ideas and innovations to the society
Head of Service, Oyo state , Mrs Olubunmi Oni (MNI) , while speaking at the event she noted that the public service week is more than a ceremonial occasion but an opportunity to reflect on the values and virtues in serving the community.
“The programmes held to celebrate the week included football tournament and community outreach programs. These initiatives were aimed at strengthening bonds within our Public Service Community, promoting teamwork and healthy competition. The enthusiasm displayed by various sectors indicates a promising future for Oyo State’s Civil/Public Service as we discover talents that can compete at higher levels.”
“At this juncture, I would like to acknowledge the unwavering support of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE, D.Sc., GSSRS, in making this Public Service Week a reality. The Governor’s commitment to the welfare and development of the Public Service deserves commendation. For the avoidance of doubt, let us take a moment to appreciate the following great activities under GSMleadership”;She said.
The topic of the lecture for the 2024 Public Service week tagged “Enhancing the skills and knowledge of public Servants to meet the evolving Societal needs” which was delivered by Prof. Adesola Ajayi, Vice Chancellor, Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan.
He lectured on the Roles of Public Servants in the society, key Challenges faced by Nigerian Public Servants, The Evolving needs of the Nigerian Society, strategies for Enhancing skills and knowledge, Institutional Reforms to support skill Enhancement and the Role of Leadership in driving change.
Speaking with the Press, Dr Babalola Moyin Florence appreciated God for his work done in her life and the award is a Reflection of Hard work.
She also sincerely appreciated the management, Staff and students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan as the award is greatly dedicated to them.
She advised others to see the public service as an opportunity to showcase their talents and serve humanity.
