Polyibadan ASCOM Organizes Prayer Session For Deceased Student, Ayinla Solo, Pays Condolence Visit To Family

The Association Of Student Communicators, (ASCOM), The Polytechnic Ibadan Chapter on Thursday, 02 December, held a prayer session for an ND2 student of the department, Babatunde Ayinla Olamide, popularly know by his stage name, Ayinla Solo.

It could be recalled that Babatunde Ayinla Solo, an ND2 Student from the Department of Mass Communication passed on to the Lord on Wednesday, 01 December, 2021 after a brief illness.

ASCOM in a bid to pay their last respect to the deceased, organised a prayer session for the deceased of which his coursemates, dressed in black, commiserated with their departed friend.

The Head of Department, Mass Communication, Alh. Najimdeen Adunola while delivering his speech at the session advised students to always remember that life is temporal and one day we shall all return to the Lord who sent us to this world.

Alh. Adunola sympathized with the entire students and encouraged them to mourn the deceased peacefully and be with him in prayer.

The President, Association of Student Communicators, (ASCOM), Com. Ayanboade Kehinde Ademola in his speech acknowledged the presence of all the students and student leaders from the student union government level, faculty and various departmental presidents who graced the service, adding that, students should always take cognizance of their health and speak up whenever they have health issues, irrespective of how little, for proper attention.

Com. Ayanboade who described Ayinla Solo’s death as a shock and an unexpected dilemma also enjoined students to make effective use of the school Medical Health facility for emergencies and any health condition.

The Class Representative, Mass communication ND 2, and Ascom Assistant Public Relations Officer, Com. Olowoyo Taiwo while speaking about the deceased claimed “Ayinla’s death is a great loss to the department and the whole of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.”

“He is a talent to behold! A figure who has dreams. He messaged me two days ago saying he’s seriously sick and requested prayer from me. I told him quick recovery, thinking it was just a slight sickness. He’s dead, it is so sad but I pray his soul rest in everlasting peace”, he maintained.

In a similar development, The Association of Student Communicators’ President, Com. Ayanboade Kehinde led his executive council, and concerned colleagues of the deceased in a condolence visitation to his parents house in Alarere Area, Iwo Road, Ibadan, immediately after the prayer session.

The prayer session was led by Ameer, Muslim Communicators Forum (MCF), Ustadzh Uthman Akorede and Christian Communicators Fellowship (CCF) President, Bro. Adelani Olojede, ably represented by Pst. Victor Eyeowa.

Other attendees at the prayer session include Ascom Staff Adviser, Mr. Rotimi Bolarinwa, Mr. Olusoji Olatunji, SUG President, Comr. Adedeji Adedamola, SUG welfare, Adekitan Jesking, FBCS Executives, NASTES President, Com. Adekola Adewale Destiny, Music Department President, Com. Omotosho Tijesu, Purchasing and Supply President, Com. Adekunle Isreal, Marketing President, Com. Ajani Musa, Office Technology Management President, Com. Shittu Olúwatobi amongst others.

Until his death, Ayinla Solo was a talented students of the department that sang Afro pop, he performed at almost all social functions and has produced series of hit tracks.
