Suspension of use of the Twitter app in Nigeria may soon be coming to a end as the Federal government announces that a consensus has been reached with Twitter management.
The minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday, while responding to news correspondents old state house that progress has been made in resolving the impasse following a series of meetings.
The minister said most of the conditions given to the platform have been accepted as Twitter has agreed to set up an office in Nigeria, although the company maintained the condition that the earliest it can happen is 2022.
Recall that the government had on restricted Twitter from operating in Nigeria on the 5th of June, following the allegation that tweets made by President Muhammadu Buhari, threatening to treat members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the language they understand, were deleted.
